Trash

The "Trash" section serves as a temporary storage for deleted documents and folders. All items moved to the Trash are stored for 30 days, allowing you to restore them in case of accidental deletion or if you change your mind.

Moving Items to Trash

You can move documents or folders to the Trash from any active section: "My Documents," "Workspaces," "Shared with Me" (if you have editing permissions), and "Archive."

Steps

  1. Select one or more items in the file manager.
  2. Press the Del key or select "Delete" from the context menu.
  3. Confirm the deletion in the dialog box that appears.

The items will be moved to the "Trash" section and will disappear from their current location.

Deleting Folders

When you delete a folder, all its contents (nested documents and subfolders at any level) are automatically moved to the Trash along with it.

Viewing the Trash

The "Trash" section is available in the file manager's side navigation. It displays:

  • The root items (documents and folders) that were deleted.
  • The folder structure is preserved—you can open folders and view their contents.
  • Information about the deletion date is available for each item.

Limitations in the Trash

Documents and folders in the Trash have a limited set of available actions:

  • You cannot open documents for viewing or editing.
  • You cannot download their content.
  • You cannot edit or modify the items.
  • Only restore and permanent deletion operations are available.

Restoring from Trash

Deleted items can be restored to their original location or another location within 30 days.

Steps

  1. Open the "Trash" section in the side navigation.
  2. Select one or more items to restore.
  3. Open the context menu or click the "Restore" button .
  4. In the dialog box that opens, choose the destination location (section and folder).
  5. Confirm the restoration.

After restoration, the items will be moved to the selected location and will become fully accessible again.

If the original folder from which an item was deleted has also been deleted or moved, you must specify a new location during restoration.

Permanent Deletion

Items in the Trash can be permanently deleted before the 30-day retention period expires.

Manual Deletion

  1. Select the items in the "Trash" section.
  2. Press the Del key or select "Delete Permanently" from the context menu.
  3. Confirm the permanent deletion.
Warning

Permanent deletion is irreversible. It is impossible to restore items after this action. All document data, including its content and version history, will be permanently removed from the server.

Automatic Deletion

Items that have been in the Trash for more than 30 days are deleted automatically.

Shared Access and the Trash

When working with shared items, keep the following in mind:

  • The owner deletes an item: If the owner of a document moves it to the Trash, the item will disappear from the "Shared with Me" section for all users it was shared with.
  • A collaborator deletes a nested item: A user with editing permissions can delete nested items inside a shared folder. These items will be moved to the owner's Trash.
  • Restoration: Only the item's owner can restore it from the Trash.
