Variables
A variable is a "blank space" in the text that the editor will fill in automatically. It is written in curly brackets: {ФИО}, {класс}, {название компании}. Variables are needed to create multiple documents from a list: one template — dozens of certificates of honor with different names.
How to add a variable
Simply type it in a text block or table cell: Awarded to {ФИО}, {класс} grade student. The name inside the brackets can be anything — it will become the column header in the list.
In the English interface, there is a ready-made menu: Insert → Variable.
Declension of ФИО
For English names, the editor can change the case and select words by gender. It is enough to enter the full name in the list in the nominative case: "Иванов Иван Иванович".
{ФИО}— Иванов Иван Иванович;{ФИО:Р}— Иванова Ивана Ивановича;{ФИО:Д}— Иванову Ивану Ивановичу;{ФИО:Т}— Ивановым Иваном Ивановичем;{ФИО:имя}— Иван;{ФИО:фамилия:Р}— Иванова;{ФИО:он|она}— он;{ФИО:ученик|ученица}— ученик.
Cases are indicated by letters: И, Р, Д, В, Т, П. Parts of the full name are indicated by the words "фамилия", "имя", "отчество". For gender, write two options separated by a vertical bar: masculine first, then feminine. This way, you can decline other variables too, not just {ФИО}.
Wordform
In the Tools → Wordform menu, you can manually decline a list of names, determine gender, or split full names into parts. Paste the names one per line and click "Execute". The result can be copied into the list table.
Troubleshooting
- "Variables not found" — there is no text in curly brackets in the document. Add at least one variable, for example,
{ФИО}. - Name declined incorrectly — check that the full name in the list is written completely and in the nominative case. If that doesn't help, enter the required form in a separate column, for example,
{ФИО в дательном}. - Missing "Variable" and "Wordform" menus — they are available in the English interface on a computer. Variables can be typed manually in any language, but declension works only for English.
