Creating a Document
You can create a new document in two ways: by starting with a blank document or by using a pre-made template to quickly achieve the desired result. Created documents are automatically saved in the current section and folder.
Creating a Blank Document
A blank document is a clean, standard A4-sized page with no pre-existing content.
Steps
- Go to the desired section (usually "My Documents" or "Workspace").
- Open the desired folder or stay in the root of the section.
- Click the "Create" button in the top right corner.
- In the dropdown menu, select "Blank Document".
After creation, the document will automatically appear in the file list with a name like "New Document" or "New Document (2)" if a file with that name already exists. As soon as the document appears, you can enter the desired name and press Enter to save it.
Blank Document Properties
- Page format: A4 (210×297 mm).
- Orientation: Portrait (vertical).
- Content: A single blank page with no background or elements.
- You can immediately start adding text, images, tables, and other elements.
Creating from a Template
Templates allow you to quickly create documents of specific types with a ready-made structure, design, and background.
Steps
- Go to the desired section and folder.
- Click the "Create" button.
- In the dropdown menu, select the desired document type from the list of available templates:
- Awards
- Diplomas
- Acknowledgments
- Certificates
- Any other template type
After selecting a template, a document is created with pre-set:
- Page background.
- Text blocks with sample formatting.
- Element placement (if provided by the template).
- Emblems or other graphic elements (if included in the template).
You can edit, move, delete, or add new elements.
Document Name
Properly naming documents helps you quickly find the files you need and maintain order in your storage.
A document name can:
- Contain letters, numbers, spaces, and special characters.
- The maximum name length is not limited, but it is recommended to use short, descriptive names.
- Documents with the same name can exist in the same folder.
Renaming
You can change a document's name in several ways:
- Right after creation — the editing mode is activated; you can enter a name and press
Enter. - From the file manager — select the document, press
F2, or choose "Rename" from the context menu. - From the editor — click on the document name in the top panel of the editor or select the "File" → "Rename" menu.
New Document Location
The location of a newly created document depends on your current context in the interface.
Placement Rules
- In the "My Documents" section — the document is created as a personal document.
- In the "Workspace" section — the document is created in the team space.
- Inside a folder — the document is placed in the currently open folder, inheriting its section and access permissions.
Moving After Creation
If a document was created in the wrong location, you can easily move it:
- Select the document in the file manager.
- Choose "Move" from the context menu.
- Specify the destination folder or section.
Auto-Save
All changes in documents are saved automatically:
- Saving occurs in the background as you edit.
- There is no need to manually click a "Save" button.
- The save status is displayed in the editor's top panel.
- If the connection is lost, changes are saved locally and synchronized when the connection is restored.
Restrictions
In some sections, creating documents is not available:
- Trash — you cannot create new documents here, only restore deleted ones.
- Recent — this is a view of recent documents; creation is not available.
- Favorites — this is a virtual section; creation is not available.
- Archived — archived folders are read-only; you cannot create documents inside them.
- Shared with me (root) — you cannot create documents in the root of this section, but you can create them inside shared folders where you have editing permissions.
Getting Started with a Document
After creating a document, you can open it for editing immediately:
- Double-click the document in the file manager.
- Select "Open" from the context menu.
- Press
Enterwhile the document is selected.
The document will open in the editor, where all the tools for working with text, images, tables, and other elements are available.
