Archive
The "Archive" section is designed for storing completed or temporarily inactive documents and folders. Archiving allows you to remove unnecessary items from your main workspace while preserving their content and preventing accidental changes.
Moving to Archive
You can move documents or folders to the archive from the "My Documents" and "Workspaces" sections.
Steps
- Select one or more items in the file manager.
- Right-click to open the context menu.
- Select the "Archive" option.
- Confirm the action in the dialog box that appears.
After confirmation, the items will disappear from the current section and be moved to the "Archive" section.
Moving items to the archive is only available for items owned by the current user. Documents from the "Shared with me" section cannot be archived.
Working with Archived Items
Documents and folders in the archive have a limited set of available actions to ensure their integrity.
Viewing
- Archived documents can be opened and viewed in the editor.
- All items are read-only. Editing the content of archived documents is not possible.
- You can navigate through the folder structure and view the content of nested items.
Downloading
- Archived documents can be downloaded to your computer just like regular files.
- You can download individual documents or entire folders (as a ZIP archive).
Copying and Moving
- Archived items can be copied to other sections (My Documents, Workspaces).
- Archived items can be moved between folders within the archive or to other sections.
- When an archived item is moved to an active workspace, it becomes editable again.
Unavailable Actions
- Editing document content.
- Creating new documents.
- Adding to favorites.
- Sharing.
Restoring from Archive
To resume working with archived items, you need to restore them to an active workspace.
Steps
- Open the "Archive" section in the side navigation.
- Select one or more items.
- Open the context menu.
- Select "Restore from Archive" .
- In the dialog box that opens, choose a destination folder in "My Documents" or "Workspaces".
- Confirm the move.
After restoring, the items will be moved to the selected location and will become fully available for work, including editing.
Deleting from Archive
Archived items can be deleted to the trash in the standard way:
- Select items in the "Archive" section.
- Open the context menu or press the
Delkey. - Confirm the deletion.
Deleted items will be moved to the Trash, where they will be stored for 30 days before being permanently deleted.
Using the Archive
The archive is useful for storing documents from completed projects, old versions of materials, or any other files that are no longer in active use but may be needed for reference. The read-only mode protects documents from accidental changes, preserving them in their original state.
